Kaumātua Ora

The Kaumātua Ora programme is targeted to improve access to primary health care services within a culturally safe environment.

This service is offered with the aim of improving health and well-being through participation in a range of activities and by the promotion of improved health and nutrition.

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga provide culturally appropriate practices and procedures in our service delivery.

The programme offers:

Monthly Hauora Hui Health Checks - blood pressure, weight and height

Monthly Social Hui - Marae visits

Weekly Tai Chi Class - on-site with our own instructor

Weekly Exercise Class - basic exercise programme in our on-site gym

There is access to:

Weekly Taikura kapahaka practices

Smoking Cessation or reduction

Breast and cervical screening
