Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is pleased to welcome you to Hauora Heretaunga. We offer high-quality, low-cost medical and dental care for whānau, alongside many other options for whānau and community support.

Hours - Ngā Hāora

If you require emergency care, please phone 111.  Hauora Heretaunga is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 6pm.  An on-call doctor is available 6pm - 8pm.

After Hours

On Saturdays and Sundays, whānau enrolled at Hauora Heretaunga can go to Totara Health at Flaxmere, from 9am - 6pm.  Their phone number is 06 873 9024.

Fees - Ngā Utu

A standard appointment is 15 minutes.  If you have more than one issue to discuss with your doctor, there may be an extra charge, or you might be asked to make an extra appointment.

Standard consultations with a GP or Nurse Practitioner

Birth to 25 years - FREE

25 and over - $16

Sexual Health consultations (under 20 years) - FREE

High-Need clients - FREE

Non high-needs clients - $10

ACC consultations

24 years and under - FREE

25 years and over - $5

Nurse consultations

Liquid nitrogen - $5-$10

Dressings - $5-$10

Collected - $10

If you require a chaperone or language support service, please let our Reception staff know.

Prescriptions - Ngā Rongoā

If you need ongoing medication, it is important that we monitor your progress.  This means that you will usually need to see a doctor to get a prescription.

The only exception to that will be if your doctor agrees that you can phone in for repeat prescriptions.  In that situation, you can phone our Reception staff and tell them:

The exact name of the medication you are taking

Whether you will collect the prescription or you would like it faxed to a pharmacy

Please note:

It takes 24 hours for us to arrange a repeat prescription

A repeat prescription charge of $10 will apply

Taiwhenua Pharmacy is right next door to Hauora Heretaunga, so whānau can easily get their medicines without having to travel somewhere else.

Your Care - Ngā Manaakitanga

At Hauora Heretaunga, we work hard to offer you high-quality care and service.

We aim to book you with your regular GP each time you visit us.

We have a no-appointment, walk-in queue for unwell whānau who need to see a GP urgently.  The hours for these clinics sometime vary.  You can check current clinic times by phoning Reception at 06 871 5352 or 0800 TAIWHENUA.
