Merger offers huge benefits for whānau

Whānau across Heretaunga and Tamatea will benefit directly from the merger of Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga and Waipukurau-based Central Health.

From September 1, these two award-winning organisations, operating as TToH, are offering whānau a much wider range of care and support, with staff based in Wairoa, Napier, Hastings, Otane, Waipukurau, Dannevirke, Wairarapa and Wellington region.

Here's some of what we offer:

  • FREE GP visits for enrolled whānau up to age 25.
  • FREE health checks by our nurses in community clinics
  • Child health from birth to 5 years
  • School nurses, community nurses, health educators and social workers
  • Wellbeing - broad-based care options using the Te Whare Tapa Whā  concept - psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses support workers, rehabilitation day programmes, short-stay respite care, residential care, counselling, alcohol and drug addiction programmes and multi-systemic therapy
  • Youth support - NEET YP, YPP, School Attendance, counselling, drug and alcohol programmes, teen parent residential and day programmes
  • Whānau support - Family Start, parenting education, life skills and counselling
  • Home care
  • Kaumātua - a programme of health, social and cultural activities
