The hopes and dreams of Kahungunu ki Heretaunga celebrated in TToH 34th anniversary

Last week (week started 16 September 2019) Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga  celebrated our 34th anniversary, a milestone we can all be very proud of.
TToH came into being as an Incorporated Society on 19 September 1985. At that stage it was a tiny entity, based in the tractor shed at Waipatu marae. It had no assets or resources. But, it was rich in vision and energy.
It was a manifestation of the hopes and dreams of Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, who wanted to revitalise their language, culture, and their future.

Fast forward to 2019 and TToH is a multiprofessional organisation based on its own large campus.

We have 300 staff and more than 100 contracts with a variety of stakeholders.

We continue to work closely with our marae and hapū, supporting and advocating for them.

However, the most important thing for us to remember today is that our mahi is making a huge difference to the lives of more than 12,000 whānau at any given time.

We’re here for them, helping them to build their own foundations for prosperity.

They’re at the heart of the TToH kaupapa.

That’s definitely worth celebrating.
