Celebrating 40 Years of Whānau-Led Services

This September, Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga proudly celebrates 40 years of unwavering whānau-led service, honouring the legacy, resilience, and vision that has shaped our journey since 1985. For four decades, Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga has stood as a beacon of "Mauri ora ki te mana Māori, creating vibrant communities" and empowering whānau across Heretaunga to thrive. From humble beginnings starting in a back shed in Flaxmere to canny investments that enabled the purchase of it’s current site in Orchard Road, Camberley. We acknowledge those past and present for their commitment to our story of kotahitanga, whakamana, kaitiakitanga, and whanaungatanga in Heretaunga. A true reflection of the mauri that has carried us through 40 years and will guide us into the next 40.

To celebrate this milestone, we invite you and your whānau to join us for two special events:

Friday 19th September 2025 – Rā Whakanuia | Open Day: Our celebrations begin with a pōhiri at 10am, followed by inspiring kōrero, delicious kai, and historical tours that showcase the heart of Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga. This is a chance to reflect on our journey, honour those who paved the way, and share stories that have shaped our kaupapa.

Saturday 27th September – Pō Ngahau | Variety Show: A vibrant, fun-filled night for whānau to come together and celebrate our achievements starting from 6pm - 8pm. Stick around for the after-function from 8.30pm - 10pm (R18). The night will feature entertainment, laughter, and joy for all!

Nau mai, haere mai – come celebrate with us as we honour the past, embrace the present, and look boldly to the future.
